Manage Back Pain

BAD BACK?
Learn how to manage and minimise painful episodes.

If you’ve ever suffered back pain you know how debilitating and painful it can be. The good news is by being proactive through physical exercise you can make such a difference.
Back pain is one of the most common reasons for doctors’ visits in the UK. In the year 2018 to 2019 the UK lost 2.8 million work days due to back pain and 30% of the total work days lost due to muskelatoral issues were because of lumbar spine/trunk issues*.
There are many contributing factors to back pain such as lifestyle, age, posture and occupation. A lot of these issues can be overcome with specific strength training exercises targeting weaker areas of the back.
You must, however, always proceed with caution when dealing with back issues, you need to know the cause of your pain to ensure you are performing the relevant corrective exercises.
When you have the knowledge to proceed safely you can do so much through exercise to help decrease your susceptibility to back pain and improve your mobility and quality of life.
Always seek professional advice before proceeding and never start a new exercise program if you are in chronic pain.
NEW BACK REHABILITATION CLASSES
At Milestone Therapy Centre, Stalham
Wednesday evenings from 18th March 2020
I am running two levels of classes as follows:
CLASS 1 - MANAGEMENT OF BACK PAIN

These sessions are designed for people who have just experienced an episode of chronic
back pain or who suffer with bad back issues and are beginners to exercise.
Through a course of gentle exercises we begin to strengthen all the muscles supporting and protecting the spine.
I will ensure each individual performs exercises suitable for their individual back problem giving people the confidence and ability to improve their back strength in a controlled way.
CLASS 2 - PREVENTION OF BACK PAIN
These sessions are designed for you if you are currently pain free from any recurring back issues and have already been taking part in an exercise regime but want to further improve your back strength.
These sessions will involve more advanced back and core strengthening exercises.
